City of Edgewater, Florida, Announces Self-Service Payment Kiosk with CityBase

24/7 Contactless, In-Person Payment Option to be Available to Edgewater Residents

December 15, 2020 (Chicago, IL) – CityBase, a leading provider of government and utility payment technology, today announced a partnership with the City of Edgewater, Fla., to install a 24/7 self-service payment kiosk for customers to pay water utility bills. CityBase is a business unit of GTY Technology Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: GTYH) (“GTY”), a leading provider of SaaS/Cloud solutions for the public sector.

The city secured CARES Act funding for the new CityBase payment kiosk as a COVID-related expense to eliminate person-to-person contact for both residents and city staff. The outdoor payment kiosk will be located outside Edgewater City Hall at 104 North Riverside Drive, Edgewater, Fla.

Customers will be able to pay their water utility bills using credit or debit card, check, or cash and have the option to print their receipt, or have it sent via email or SMS text. All kiosk functionality is ADA compliant, meeting accessibility standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act, and will be available in English and Spanish. Payments post in real-time to the city’s customer information system, and staff can securely and remotely manage all transactions via CityBase revenue management.

“It was important to us to continue serving our in-person customers in a way that was safe and convenient,” said Bridgette Vaissiere, Finance Director for the City of Edgewater. “We chose to work with CityBase because they were already partnering successfully with other cities in the state of Florida. Their kiosk technology will make it easier for our customers to pay and easier for our staff to continue supporting those customers with up-to-the-minute information about those payments.”

“We’re thrilled to work with the City of Edgewater to help them continue serving their in-person customers,” said Mike Duffy, CEO and Founder of CityBase. “When it comes to essential services like water utilities, all customers should have the ability to pay their bills in a way that’s most convenient to them. Installing a 24/7, self-service kiosk will enable customers to access services without having to take time off work or risk their health during a pandemic.”
