Chicago software startup CityBase acquired for $160 million

CityBase, a Chicago startup that develops software for local governments and utilities, has been acquired by an Austin, Texas, firm for $160 million in cash and stock. CityBase was one of six companies acquired this week by GTY Technology Holdings. All of the acquired companies provide services aimed at digitizing the public sector, and the combined company will operate as a software platform for state and local governments.
